Privy Strengthens Global Liveness Detection Standards, Earns iBeta Level 2 Certification

21 January 2026

The surge in digital fraud cases in Indonesia is becoming increasingly alarming. According to a report by the Indonesia Anti-Scam Center (IASC) under the Financial Services Authority (OJK), losses from digital fraud between November 2024 and December 2025 reached IDR 9 trillion, based on 411,055 reports.

Amid the rising number of digital fraud cases, Privy, a provider of digital identity and electronic signature services, has officially obtained the international iBeta Certification ISO/IEC 30107-3 Level 2 (Presentation Attack Detection) for its Liveness Detection feature. The certification was secured to further strengthen service security for users.

Nitin Mathur, Privy’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), said the international certification serves as global recognition of Privy’s technological capability to detect and prevent medium to advanced forms of digital fraud, while also marking a significant upgrade from its previous Level 1 certification.

“This certification reflects Privy’s commitment to meeting global standards and preventing increasingly diverse digital fraud attempts. For Privy, user security is the top priority. Moreover, any digital fraud attempt, including identity forgery and verification failures, can directly lead to financial losses,” Nitin said in a press statement quoted on Wednesday (21 January 2026).

Privy’s Liveness Detection technology was developed to ensure that verification can only be carried out by a real individual (real presence), rather than through manipulated photos, videos, or deepfakes. With the achievement of iBeta Certification Level 2, Privy’s system has passed more complex testing, covering a wider range of identity spoofing methods, longer testing durations, and attack scenarios that closely resemble real-world conditions.

Beyond meeting global standards, Nitin said the certification is intended to ensure security and convenience for Privy’s 71 million verified individual users. “Privy has helped prevent more than 122 million attempted digital fraud incidents by blocking suspicious activity before it escalates into misuse that causes losses,” he said.

To date, Privy has been trusted by more than 167,000 corporate users and has facilitated over 158 million digitally signed documents across various industries, including MSMEs. This scale of adoption reflects the growing need for digital trust infrastructure in Indonesia.

“Going forward, Privy is committed to continuously enhancing our technological capabilities, strengthening regulatory compliance, and developing globally standardized Digital Trust and Digital Identity solutions,” Nitin added.
