Jepara, August 2025 – In the spirit of Indonesia’s Independence Day, Mandiri Capital Indonesia (MCI) together with its portfolio company, Amartha, collaborated to hold a financial literacy session and free eye check-ups for more than 300 women MSMEs supported by Amartha in Jepara. The participants are active users of AmarthaFin, a digital financial service that supports their daily business needs.
In this activity, MCI provided support in the form of free eye examinations and eyeglasses. This simple yet meaningful step was aimed at helping women MSME entrepreneurs to be healthier, more comfortable, and more productive in running their businesses every day.
Additionally, through the financial literacy session led by Amartha, MSME partners gained new knowledge on managing their finances more wisely, helping them avoid the risks of illegal online lending and digital fraud practices.
This initiative is especially relevant when seen in light of the 2025 National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey, which recorded that the financial literacy index in Central Java Province stood at 66.46 percent—lower than its financial inclusion index at 80.51 percent. These findings indicate that while the people of Central Java are quite active in using financial products and services, their understanding of how these products work and the risks involved remains relatively low.
The collaboration between MCI and Amartha reflects the synergy between venture capital and portfolio companies in delivering added value to society. Beyond business development, this synergy is also directed toward creating tangible social impact at the grassroots level.
Through this initiative, held in the month of independence, MCI and Amartha hope that more women MSMEs will become empowered, protected, and able to enhance their productivity and business independence—aligned with the spirit of freedom to progress and grow together.
