Jakarta (ANTARA) – Andi Taufan Garuda Putra, Founder and CEO of PT Amartha Financial Group (Amartha), said that 60% of the company’s 3.7 million MSME partners who have received business capital financing from Amartha are based outside Java.
He said at the “Media Gathering: Digital for Villages, Fintech’s Potential to Drive the Economy” in Jakarta on Friday that the company has disbursed IDR 37 trillion in financing between 2010 and 2025 to MSME entrepreneurs across 50,000 villages throughout Indonesia.
Customers of the fintech lending platform come from a range of business sectors, including trade (53%), agriculture (23%), livestock (9%), services (6%), and home-based industries and other sectors (7%).
He added that this sectoral diversification also reflects the company’s efforts to maintain strong governance and sound risk management.
Regarding the company’s performance in 2025, Taufan said Amartha disbursed IDR 13.2 trillion in financing.
“Amartha’s growth last year was double digit year-on-year, above 20%, while NPL (Non-Performing Loans) was kept at around 4%,” he said.
He noted that the growth was driven by innovation, with the company not only focusing on working capital disbursement but also expanding its fintech services through the AmarthaFin app, which had more than 1 million users last year.
In addition, the company has developed a Payment Point Online Bank (PPOB) service through AmarthaLink, reaching 50,000 partners, a micro-investment product joined by 130,000 partners, and a zakat distribution feature as part of efforts to enhance inclusivity across Amartha’s financial ecosystem.
The development of these products and financial services was designed based on a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by grassroots MSMEs, particularly in rural areas.
“The combination of market understanding, relevant products, governance, and partnerships with global institutions forms Amartha’s foundation to continue growing sustainably,” Andi Taufan Garuda Putra said.
